Recycling

Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.

How Do I Start

  • Pasco County does not pick up your recycling.
  • Your recycling is picked up by your trash hauler and taken to a County facility.
  • Call your trash hauler to request a recycling cart and for your recycling schedule
  • If you want to use your own container, call 727-857-2780 to request a recycling decal. If you use your own container, please make sure it has a lid.
  • The Residential Curbside Recycling Program is available to single-family residential units or multifamily units being serviced as a single-family
  • Pasco County does not have access to trash hauler customer lists
  • If you're paying for twice-a-week curbside garbage pickup, you already have recycling service
  • Please only recycle the allowed items below

What is accepted:
  • Aluminum Cans
  • Cardboard
  • Metal Food Cans
  • Paper
  • Plastic Bottles & Containers

What is not accepted:
  • Glass
  • Juice & Milk Cartons
  • Nothing Wet or Dirty

Trash Haulers

  • If you would like to start recycling in Pasco county, please call your trash hauler to request a recycling cart and for your recycling schedule.
  • The County does not pick up your recycling. Your recycling is picked up by your trash hauler.
  • Pasco County does not have access to trash hauler customer lists.
  • Pasco county has eight licensed trash hauling companies who pick up your trash and recycling.

We can only accept the items listed because the machines that separate recycling are only designed for certain items. Anything else can cause the machines to seize up, slow down, or even break. Recycling markets are local, meaning that acceptable recycling items may vary from state to state and from county to county.

When in doubt, throw it out!

If you live in Pasco and you use a dumpster, you can still recycle. Please check the nearest drop-off to you. Or, give us a call at 727-856-4539. We are happy to offer guidance however we can.
