Dog Parks

Rules

The following rules apply for all dogs regardless of size and breed:

  • Dogs must be controlled and remain on a leash that does not exceed six feet in length. Leashes must be held by owner at all times.
  • Dogs must be licensed and tagged, with current vaccinations.
  • Dog owners are responsible for clean-up and removal of dog's feces.
  • Dogs must not enter buildings, playground or play areas, athletic fields, dugouts, basketball courts, skate parks, shelters/pavilions, cabin areas, equestrian trails, piers, swim areas and beaches.
  • Dogs are not permitted in the following parks or preserves: Jumping Gully Preserve, Pasco Palms Preserve, and Sunwest Park.
  • Aggressive dogs are not permitted at any parks. Any dog displaying vicious or aggressive behavior will be asked to leave.
  • Only service dogs are permitted inside facilities, unless it's a department approved event or program.
Dog Parks

The Anclote Gulf Dog Park and the Land O' Lakes Dog Park are both fenced-in facilities where the dogs can run free and play with others but there is a partition to separate the smaller and larger dogs. There are fire hydrants, tunnels to run through, and a few covered benches for their owners to watch them play. A drinking fountain for the dogs is available but we highly recommend bringing your own dog bowl so there aren't any issues with dogs that may be sick. The park has a dog waste station to supply you with bags to pick up after your animals. We gladly accept plastic bags or donations so we can purchase them for your pets. All dogs are to be licensed and vaccinated.
