Solicitation for Transportation Improvement Projects

Each November, the Pasco County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) notifies its local government constituents that, for a limited time, the MPO is accepting applications for state or federally funded transportation improvement projects to be considered for inclusion on the MPO’s List of Project Priorities (LOPP) for the next state fiscal year. These applications are used by the MPO to determine if the proposed projects meet the state and local qualifications for inclusion on the LOPP and to determine their proposed rank.

Once it is determined that a project is qualified for inclusion, it is assigned a score according to an objective set of performance measure criteria. Once all of the qualified improvement projects are scored, they are assigned a proposed rank according to their score. The ranked projects are placed on a draft list of project priorities which includes a recommendation for their priority. The list is then submitted to the MPO Board for adoption. Projects included in the adopted LOPP are considered by the FDOT for inclusion in its Five-Year Work Program. Qualifying candidate projects may include both feasibility study and implementation projects. Projects representing all modes of transportation are considered.

To submit a proposed transportation improvement project, qualified local governmental units must complete a Project Information Form and Project Scoring Sheet for each project. Send completed documents to mpoprojectsubmission@mypasco.net.
