Pasco County Government has a team of exceptional talent whose work and dedication to Serving Our Community to Create a Better Future shines daily!  We’re proud to recognize our Star Team, Star Performer and Star Leader of the Year for 2023.

These annual awards allow team members to nominate their peers based on outstanding job performance, devotion to duty and cooperation.  Nominations are submitted by department and branch – and our leadership team votes for our top performers.

Pasco County’s 2023 Star Team of the Year award goes to the Wiregrass Ranch Sports Campus (WRSC) Transition Team.  They overcame a huge obstacle: in a mere 45 days, the team took over operations of WRSC from an outside agency.  Dozens of team members from all facets of Pasco County Government played an important role in the transition.  These devoted employees offered their services, assistance and guidance to successfully complete this monumental task.

Sarah Suhkram, volunteer and foster coordinator with Pasco County Animal Services, is our 2023 Star Performer of the Year.  Sarah has worked to create one of the finest volunteer programs in the country, validated by Points of Light and the Association of Leaders in Volunteer Engagement (AL!VE) as a Service Enterprise organization for standards of excellence in volunteer engagement.  She routinely goes above and beyond – making a difference in not only people's lives, but animals' lives as well!

Training and Development Manager Ben Diel is Pasco County’s 2023 Star Leader of the Year.  With nearly three decades of dedicated service to Pasco County, Ben has provided outstanding service to team members and leaders across the organization – making him a top role model for all.

“Pasco County continues to attract top-notch, customer-service focused team members,” said Board of County Commissioners Chair Ron Oakley.  “These awards are our way of recognizing these innovative, talented team members who impact the lives of people in Pasco County every day.  We couldn’t do it without you!”
