Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR)
Pasco County was awarded $2,455,858 from the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (FDEO) for the acquisition and relocation of low- to moderate-income households in the Elfers Parkway Area through the Voluntary Homeowner Occupied Buyout Program of the Elfers Area under the Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) related to Hurricane Hermine. Assistance will be provided in the form of acquisition of current owner-occupied properties at pre-Hermine value and a down payment assistance grant of up to $25,000 for purchase of a new property within Pasco County. CDBG-DR funds are eligible for unmet needs only and cannot be used where a duplication of benefit may occur. FEMA funds, insurance funds and other assistance will be considered in any request/award for assistance using CDBG-DR funds.
How is this Program Funded?
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery funds to Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (FDEO) for activities authorized under Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 and described in the State of Florida Action Plan for Disaster Recovery. Pasco County has entered into an agreement with FDEO (Agreement #HM006) to administer disaster recovery funds. Funds are still available for eligible Pasco County homeowners occupying their properties in the Elfers Parkway area.
