Information on mitigating a structures/property's flood risk is available at any of the Pasco County Libraries and through the web at FEMA Floodplain Management Publications.

Some of the publications available from FEMA are:

• Building a Safe Room Inside Your House: Provides detailed guidance and plans on shelter design for high wind storms.
• Homeowner's Guide to Retrofitting (FEMA 312):Contains an overview of six methods to protect a structure during a flood event.
• Protecting Building Utilities from Flood Damage: Contains information on protecting building utilities from flooding.
• Protecting Your Home and Property from Flood Damage (FEMA P-805) : Contains information on returning to your home safely, drying out your home, cleaning out mold and mildew, obtaining a building permit and contractor and repairing your home.
