In 2013, PCAS saw a need to found a Hoarding Task Force. Since its inception, the task force has assisted in over 30 hoarding cases countywide. The team is comprised of a variety of groups to help cover all aspects of animal hoarding. Hoarding in any capacity is a mental health issue. Animal hoarders are not malicious individuals, but rather, overwhelmed caregivers who require assistance and sensitivity to their unique situations.
