Road Litter Control

Public Works Department has a litter control program in place to remove and dispose waste products that are dropped and left in the county's right-of-way.

Road litter removal and disposal includes trash that can enter the county's Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4) facilities. Large dead animal removal and other road trash like tree limbs that pose safety hazards are removed by Road and Bridge (Operations) Division staff. The county's Road Litter Control Program also includes the select sweeping of specific county roads and roadway intersections. The litter control data is reflected in the county's Annual National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Permit Annual Report.
