Formerly Known As an Occupational License
Businesses Operating in Pasco County
Business Tax Receipts (formerly known as Occupational Licenses) are required for most businesses operating in Pasco County and they are created and maintained through our Pasco County Tax Collector offices.
The following information is typically required to complete the Business Tax Receipt application:
- Type of business, business name, physical location of the business, mailing address, telephone number, owner / manager name and telephone number
- Fictitious name registration or statement of exemption
- Federal Employer ID Number or Social Security Number
- Copy of state, county, or other regulatory license (if applicable)
- Date business opened in Pasco County

If you are a contractor, you must also register with Contractor Licensing prior to performing any construction work. It is the contractor's responsibility to ensure that all licensing information on file with Pasco County is current.
Business Operating within City Limits
After acquiring a Pasco County Business Tax Receipt (you should have this proof handy), the Cities also require submission of a Business Tax Application:
Port Richey: City Business Tax Application
New Port Richey: City Business Tax Application
Dade City: City Business Tax Application or City Clerk Online Application
City of San Antonio: City Business Tax Application
Town of Saint Leo: City Business Tax Certificate Application

Duplicate Business Tax Receipts are issued at no fee to a business that has lost a Business Tax Receipt. Duplicate Business Tax Receipts are available at all Tax Collector Locations.

Mailing Address Change

Business Tax Receipts are issued at no fee to a business that has a mailing address change. This service is available at all Tax Collector Locations.

New Owner, Location Change or When A Business is Sold
A Business Tax Receipt transfer is required when a business is sold, when there is a new owner of the business or the business address or location changes.
The transfer fee is 10% of the Business Tax Receipt fee, with a minimum fee of $3.00. A transfer can be processed at all Tax Collector Locations.
