Chemicals & Materials Waste Minimization Directory
What if a business owner has a use for
your extra or leftover chemicals, would you give it to that business owner and save
yourself the cost of disposal? Sound like a noble idea?
This is exactly what this program is designed to do.
This program is really one of a kind. Its foundation is based on waste minimization through exchange. This concept, which will saves money and time, consists of a forum offered for business owners and organizations throughout Pasco County to exchange chemicals and materials. County staff facilitates communications between interested parties. A directory has been established and the County acts as a repository for information on availability and demands for chemicals and materials, as well as, wanted and unwanted products.
As offered by the County, this service is done free of charge to any participant. However, participants can donate or exchange chemicals and materials directly without the involvement of County staff in the transaction.
To list your unwanted chemicals and materials in the directory, please contact the County. Once you have listed your chemicals with us, we will proceed and attempt to secure a taker (a business) for your materials. Similarly, if you have a need for an item or more, you will go through the same process. Full details of this program are available in the form of a brochure that can be mailed to you upon request. This program is limited to business owners, particularly those that use chemicals and generate hazwaste in the process.
