FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE RESOURCE RECOVERY FACILITY AND LANDFILL
1. Where are the incinerator and landfill located?
The physical address is 14230 Hays Road, Spring Hill, Florida 34610.
2. What are the hours of operation?
7:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday through Saturday. We are closed on Sundays and holidays.
NO LARGE LOADS of construction debris, brush or trash will be accepted after 4:00 P.M.
The gates and scales will be closed at 5:00 P.M.
3. What do you charge for?
·Construction Debris is charged at $56.70 a ton pro rated ($2.84 per 100 pounds).
· Yard Waste is charged $56.70 a ton pro rated.
·Tires are chargeable at $100.00 a ton pro rated.
· Items that require special handling (large loads of trash requiring escorts to the
incinerator) are charged $56.70 a ton pro rated.
· Appliances brought in by
residents, will be charged $3.00 per item, however,
appliances brought in by commercial haulers will be charged $56.70 per
ton.
· Electronics, computer equipment
and television sets brought in by residents will
be charged $5.00 and item; these items brought in by commercial haulers will be
charged $200.00 per ton
·Tare Weights charged $2.00 each

4. Is there a charge if I bring my household trash to the landfill?
There is no charge for household trash if it is bagged, boxed, or containerized, as
if it were to be put at the curb for collection, however, oversized loads, loose
loads or excessive loads of furniture, rugs, cardboard, etc. will be charged at
$56.70 a ton pro rated.
5. Where can I dispose of hazardous waste?
Paint, batteries, oil (5 gallons maximum) from households only will be accepted
at the landfill’s Hazardous Waste Center during normal working hours.
Insecticides, fertilizers, weed killers, etc. should be brought to the Hazardous
Waste Center on Thursdays and the last Saturday of each month.
6. Does the landfill accept debris from other counties?
No. The Resource Recovery Facility and Landfill are for Pasco County residents
only. Out of County waste WILL NOT be accepted. Attendants may ask for
proof of residency (drivers license, utility bill, tax bill).
7. If the property is my rental property do I still have to pay? Even though I pay
taxes on these properties?
Yes. Rental properties are a business and will be charged. All commercial
haulers will be charged.
8. Is there any place on the east side of the County to dispose of trash?
Yes. There is a transfer station at 9626 Handcart Road, Dade City. Please contact them at (352) 521-0500 for information.
