Community Development provides assistance to income-eligible buyers toward the purchase of a home in Pasco County if you have not owned a home in the last 3 years. Applicant households who make less than 120% of Area Median Income (AMI) for the Tampa Bay Area may apply for assistance.

Pasco County Community Development is currently accepting applications for their Down Payment Assistance (DPA) program.
All interested homebuyers will need to contact Suncoast Housing Connections (Tampa Bay Community Development Corporation) to attend a Home Buyer Education Class. Homebuyers must work with a Community Development approved lender.

How do I repay this loan?
The funds provided through Pasco County will be a zero-interest loan that is recorded as a second mortgage on your home. These funds must be repaid. The repayment of these funds helps sustain our programs, allowing other homebuyers to be assisted in the future. Very Low and Low applicants will begin payback in 5 years; Moderate income applicants will begin paying back their loan immediately.
Homebuyer Classes
In order to participate in any Pasco County home buyer program, you must attend a County-sponsored class. These classes are in all areas of the County. Spanish language classes are also available. Please note that these classes are first-come, first-serve. If a class is not listed on their website, it may be full. Please call them to confirm that the class is full.

Lenders must attend a training in order to participate in the DPA Program. All interested lenders will need to email Brian Jordan to sign up for the Lender Training.
Realtors will need to complete the training and sign a "Letter of Understanding" to participate in the DPA program. Realtors working with a potential homebuyer can contact Brian Jordan by email for the training.Properties That Are Eligible for Assistance
Eligible homes must be located in Pasco County. The maximum purchase price of an eligible home cannot exceed $275,000. Types of homes include:
- Single-family homes
- Condominiums
- Town-homes
- Mobile homes or manufactured homes
- Property located within a special flood hazard area or repetitive loss area
- Property that has experienced a sinkhole or other ground settlement activity, including remediated or stabilized properties
