Community Service


 PCAS offers community service options to individuals who are required by the court to perform community service hours. Community service and volunteering are not considered to be the same thing at our facility. Individuals interested in performing their hours at PCAS must register in the Administration Building (Building B). Registration can only be done Monday through Friday from 8-4:30.

 Requirements to Participate
-Misdemeanor charges (PCAS is unable to accept felony violators)
-Must be 16 years of age or older
-Be able to provide a valid photo ID
-Provide documentation from the court expression the need for community service as well as the number of hours required

Community Service Job Duties
-Sweeping & Mopping Floors
-Cleaning & Sanitizing empty animal cages, kennels and crates
-Washing, Drying and Folding Laundry
-Sweeping Walkways
-Washing and Drying Dishes
-Basic Lawn Maintenance
-Miscellaneous Additional Tasks Assigned by PCAS Staff

*Community Service Participants will have NO contact with animals. ANY participant found to be touching, holding or handling animals in ANY manner will be dismissed from the program and will not be able to complete their hours at PCAS.

Signing In/Out

Dress Code

Signing in and out is the responsibility of the participant.
Signature sheets are available in the Administration Building and the Adoption Center.
A staff member MUST initial every time a participant signs in and out.
It is the responsibility of the participant to ensure that staff initials the signature sheet.
Any hours recorded that are not properly signed or initialed will not be counted towards the hours worked

Participants must wear long pants, shirts with sleeves and closed toed shoes. 
No Exceptions Will Be Made!
