Culvert/Pipe Replacement
The Public Works Department has an active pipe replacement program for failing or failed older pipes. Many of the older pipes are Corrugated Metal Pipes (CMPs) that are in various states of disrepair. The pipe replacement program protects public safety and helps maintain drainage conveyances in fully functional status so that flooding may be minimized during rainstorms.

When these older pipes fail, they pose threats to public safety, in addition to their potential adverse impact on storm runoff movement through those pipes/culverts.

Jarvis Street Pipe Replacement:
The picture at right shows pipe replacement activities in the easement located between homes in the Tanglewood Mobile Village Condo and Colonial Oaks.  This pipe is the outfall and has not been operable for some time causing flooding to the nearby areas.  The pipe run starts at the basin south of the existing pump station in the easement to the rear  of 3327 Jarvis St. to an open pipe end within  the Whippoorwill Drive easement.

Pipe/Culvert Replacements
The Public Works Department has published a list of in-house pipe replacements completed during 2015 and 2016, with their locations and pictures, as may be available.
