Pond Maintenance
The maintenance is intended to keep a 15 to 20 foot wide area surrounding a pond free of vegetation overgrowth. Grasses and plants in this area should grow knee-high. This vegetation serves to slow the flow of surface water into the pond allowing much of the silt and nutrients to drop out before they reach the pond. The graph at the right shows currently available monthly data on pond maintenance(mowing).
