Visit Pasco serves the broader interests of the economy of Pasco County by acting as an industry leader to market the entire area regionally, nationally and internationally while promoting the area as a travel destination, by marketing our natural attractions, cultural heritage and by recruiting events that showcase Pasco County as a premier nature and outdoors destination in Florida. Vacant - Public Communication Specialist

This position is a professional Tourism Marketing Coordinator career position responsible for developing and maintaining effective, proactive relationships with tourism related business in Pasco County, updating and maintaining industry databases, and maintaining tourism websites and social media. Participate in trade show and industry events to gain exposure for Pasco County as a destination in and out of state. Requires a high level of public contact and speaking engagements, effective use of time for managing a diversity of projects as well as extraordinary customer service skills.   Also requires flexibility to alter work schedule, working weekends as required, making sound independent unsupervised decisions.

Develops and maintains effective tourism industry relations.  Responsible for conducting industry workshops.  Recruits and trains volunteers to improve efficiency of office operations and community outreach.  Responsible for coordinating co-op advertising opportunities for accommodators and tour operators.

Assists general public with customer service needs, answers phones, assists director with overall project management.  Participates and makes presentations at industry related meetings and makes monthly presentation at Tourist Development Council meetings.  Performs related work as required.

Consuelo Sanchez started with the Pasco County Office of Tourism Development as the Sr. Secretary, acted as the Sports Marketing Coordinator throughout 2016, and is now a Project Coordinator III. She is responsible for handling the Pasco County Film Commission Office, Sports Event Funding program, and directs the administrative functions of the department, including the overall coordination, implementation, and execution of specific projects, as well as managing the budget.

Mrs. Sanchez studied business administration at Escuela de Administracion de Negocios (EAN) in Bogota, Colombia, as well as information security systems, and accounting at Universidad Libertadores and Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. Her background includes more than 18 years of experience analyzing information, preparing reports for governmental entities, and other stakeholders. In Colombia she worked with large petroleum companies managing the logistics department, leading groups and achieving results.

As a church leader she worked with teams and individuals in the largest church in Colombia for more than seven years where she provided motivation, mentoring and coaching, goal setting, strategic planning, social services, event coordination, and different initiatives where she played critical roles.





Open - Program Manager / Digital Media & Communications

The Program Manager is a professional career position responsible for creating, growing, promoting and updating the official destination website for Pasco County. It also ensures the county’s online worldwide presence for visitors is as positive and accurate as possible. Requires independent judgment and discretion to provide accurate, attractive, comprehensive and professional information, optimized for search engine discovery, about all activities, amenities and attractions within an hour of the county, and to develop strategies to correct and embellish online information sources.

The Program Manager manages external SEO and website development agencies, as needed. Work requires effective use of time for managing diverse activities; exceptional customer service skills; and independent judgment and discretion in planning, scheduling and coordinating tasks and sources of information. Excellent writing, editing, design, and proofreading skills/knowledge are mandatory. Knowledge of SEO/SEM, website development and social media is also required.



Open - Tourism Director

The Office of Tourism Director is the primary liaison for Pasco County and its tourism interactions. This is a highly responsible management, administrative, and supervisory position that leads the implementation of a comprehensive program for tourism development for Pasco County, Florida through an adopted Tourism Development Plan. The position requires a high degree of initiative and strong communications skills to implement the tourism plan with the intention of increasing revenues and to be sustainable throughout its implementation and into the future. The position is both developmental and operational, helping to both create annual business plans and then ensure effective follow-through and measure program performance. The position reports to the Strategic Policy Administrator, but also works in concert with the Tourism Development Council and policy leadership provided by the County Administrator and the Board of County Commissioners.

The Director will promote and direct all efforts to attract and enhance all aspects of the Pasco County tourist industry and will analyze, administer, and direct all matters pertaining to the disposition of the Tourist development Tax revenues, to include budget planning and execution, revenue projections, and strategic planning and coordination regarding tourism advertising and promotion to improve the tourism development efforts of Pasco County.
