Magnolia Valley MSBU - Port Richey Watershed Project
Magnolia Valley Location

Magnolia Valley Location
MSBU Purpose
Pasco County created the Magnolia Valley Municipal Service Benefit Unit (MSBU) in response to the 2015 flooding events in the Port Richey Watershed. These flooding problems had been an ongoing issue. The Public Works Department was asked to petition property owners who live in this area to determine if there was an interest in forming a MSBU to pay for flood relief projects.

On May 23, 2016 a  public workshop was held in the Pasco County Commission Chambers at the West Pasco Government Center. The purpose of this workshop was to provide information and respond to citizen questions regarding the Port Richey Watershed Project. Based on citizens' input at that meeting, changes were made to the proposed boundary. These changes can be viewed by clicking on the link below for the revised "Magnolia Valley MSBU Map". The project schedule is included in the PowerPoint presentation listed below.

MSBU Approved by Board of County Commissioners - July 26, 2016
At the public hearing on July 26, 2016 the Pasco County Board of County Commissioners approved the Magnolia Valley MSBU at a current assessment of a maximum of $28.00 per equivalent residential unit (ERU). Assessments began in 2017.
