Roadway and Intersection Sweeping Program
Roadway and Intersection Sweeping Program:

This program includes the maintenance sweeping of select roadways and roadway intersections in the County. Sweeping currently covers a total of approximately 33.8 miles, including 22 miles of Little Road and 10 miles of Ridge Road. These miles cover nearly 18,564,473 square-feet (426.18 acres) of roads and roadway intersections. Sweeping is performed by contractors that are selected through a competitive bidding process. Each contractor's work is then supervised by Stormwater Management Division staff.

Litter Control Program:

The Litter Control Program includes trash pick up events, roadway and roadway intersection sweeping. The annual tonnage of waste disposal removed is included in the NPDES permit report.

Each contractor must file a work completion report. The report includes site number, road name and date. Also included in the report is a waste disposal log with the weight of materials swept which is recorded at the landfill. County staff checks each work completion report and approves them when compliant with the contract requirements.
