Counselor in Training Program

cit.jpg

Young adults, age 14-17, may be eligible to participate in our volunteer Counselor in Training (CIT) Program.  This program provides teens with the opportunity to gain experience working with children in a recreational setting.  Selected CIT’s will participate in the planning and operation of camp, assist with maintenance, and be a role model and friend to younger campers.  CIT’s will receive training and performance evaluations to help develop the social, mental, and physical skills needed for future employment.

CIT application packets are available for downloading here or can be picked up at the Pasco County Recreation Complexes. Applications must be turned in by Friday, May 11, 2018. Positions are limited.  Birth certificate for proof of age is required.  Selection will be based on previous experience in recreation and with children, school grades, extracurricular involvement, reference letters from adults, and a personal interview. Please note that CIT positions may be terminated at any time at the discretion of management.

Please call (813) 929-1229 for more information about becoming a CIT.
