The Future of the Region Awards Program provides honor and recognition for notable achievement in the public and private sector for resource planning and management in the Tampa Bay region. The Tampa Bay Regional Planning council’s mission in recognizing excellence is to encourage future vision and cooperation within the regional community.

The Charles A. McIntosh, Jr. Award of Distinction recognizes outstanding achievement in the community, salutes a true statesman who dedicated a major portion of his life to improving the quality of life in the Tampa Bay region.

The West Market Area also known as 'The Harbors', includes the coastal and inland areas along U.S. 19 and Little Road corridors, from North County Line to South County Line. The West Market Area Plan will examine redevelopment and infill opportunities, identify land use, infrastructure and economic development strategies, and create an implementation mechanism for the Area, that largely focuses on promoting coastal opportunities, transforming U.S.19 into a livable roadway, and creating an infill community structure.

The Penny for Pasco is a Local Government Infrastructure Surtax passed by Pasco County voters on March 9, 2004 and again on November 6, 2012. The surtax became effective on January 1, 2005 to December 31, 2014. Voters signaled their approval for the continuation of the Penny for Pasco for another ten years, beginning in January 2015. The renewal was supported by 70% of the voters in Pasco County! The revenue from this Penny will continue to enhance the quality of life for our citizens through the completion of capital projects and purchases by the County, Cities and the School Board. The Future of the Region Awards Program provides honor and recognition for notable achievement in the public and private sector for resource planning and management in the  Tampa Bay region. The Tampa Bay Regional Planning council’s mission in recognizing  excellence is to encourage future vision and cooperation within the regional community.

The mobility fee program utilizes innovative strategies to help fund multiple modes of travel and encourage urban development, economic development, and transit oriented and traditional neighborhood development.  The mobility fee assesses for the capital costs of roads, transit and bicycle/pedestrian facilities, and utilizes variable levels of service, trip lengths, and other transportation revenue sources to create an innovative tiered rate structure that encourages economic development, transit oriented and traditional neighborhood/town center development, and development in Pasco’s designated urban market areas along the US 19 and S.R. 54/56 corridors.

Market Area Plan and Transit Oriented Development Amendments

The Tampa Bay Regional Planning council’s mission in recognizing excellence is to encourage future vision and cooperation within the regional community.

Pasco County has partnered with the Tampa Bay Region to create a shared vision and is committed to integrate the One Bay and TBARTA Master Plan. The Market Area and Transit Oriented Development amendments create the planning framework to support and implement the regional vision of a sustainable community.

The Market Area policies enable the County to move away from a “one-size fits all” approach and tailor tools to meet the needs of specifi c areas of the county in accordance with the established vision. Pasco County has established Regional Activity Nodes, Market Area
Nodes, Transit Station Overlays in the Comprehensive Plan and is also pursuing a transferable of development rights (TDR) program.

The primary goals of the LEAP (Lean, Efficient, Accountable Pasco) project are to improve customer service, increase efficiency, and reduce expenditures. Secondary goals are to improve the quality of the services provided, increase revenues, and demonstrate a positive return on investment (ROI) in LEAP initiatives.
Pasco County will provide excellent customer service to our citizens in a lean, efficient and accountable manner. The LEAP Project is the method by which we will implement this vision.
