Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) want to hear from the citizens about the Transportation Planning Process in Pasco County:

Federal Law requires the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) to jointly certify each Transportation Management Area’s (TMA) planning process at least every four years. TMAs are urbanized areas with 200,000 or more in population. The Federal team has scheduled a site visit to Pasco County on March 27-28, 2017 to conduct the TMA certification. The Tampa Bay TMA includes three MPOs of Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco.

The site visit includes three primary activities will comprise the site visit:
(a) Staff-level discussions with representatives from FDOT and other planning agencies within the TMA;
(b) Discussion with local elected and/or appointed officials; and
(c) the Discussions with the general public.

At the conclusion of the upcoming site visit, an informal closeout session will be held with the MPO and planning partners to discuss preliminary review findings. A TMA Certification Review Report that summarizes the site visit that provides specific review findings, and issues the FHWA/FTA certification act will be prepared after the site visit. Subsequently, a formal presentation will be made by FHWA/FTA at a future Pasco County MPO Policy Board Meeting following the transmittal of the TMA Certification Review Report.

The format for the public meeting on March 27, 2017 at 5:30 PM consists of two components:
1) a brief presentation by FHWA Florida Division staff and
2) an open forum to receive public comments. 

A lead Federal Review Team staff member will be responsible for moderating the public meeting. The Public Meeting will be held at West Pasco Government Center, Board Room, 8731 Citizens Drive, New Port Richey, Florida, 34654. Please see the Notice of Public Meeting for more details.

A citizen may also communicate their concerns directly to the Federal  Review Team by submitting a Comment Card/Form. The comment cards should be returned to FHWA Florida Division Office at 3500 Financial Plaza, Suite 400; Tallahassee, FL 32312; Attn: Planning, or faxed to (850) 942-9691 or dropped at the Public Meeting or email to .  All written comments will need to be received by the May 12, 2017 as indicated on the comment form in order to be included in the final certification report.
