It is recommended that the data herein presented be given formal consideration by the Board of County Commissioners.
DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS:
Please find before you for the final public hearing the proposed amendment to the Pasco County Municipal Fire Service Unit (MFSU) Ordinance Nos. 79-28 and 01-012, as subsequently amended. The ordinance amendment was introduced to the Board on March 5, 2002, and a first public hearing was held on March 26, 2002. This ordinance amendment provides for inclusion into the County's MFSU the entire Land O' Lakes Volunteer Fire Department fire service protection area, as is more accurately described in Exhibits A (legal description) and B (map).
ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS:
The Board is requested to consider the following alternatives:
1. Adopt the attached proposed amendment to the Pasco County MFSU Ordinance.
2. Not adopt the attached proposed amendment to the Pasco County MFSU Ordinance.
RECOMMENDATION AND FUNDING:
The Emergency Services Department recommends that the Board listen to public comment and approve Alternative No. 1. It is further requested that the Board authorize the Chairman's signature on the amendment and direct Secretarial Services to retain the original; send one copy of the ordinance to the County Attorney's Office, New Port Richey; and one copy to the Emergency Services Department, Land O' Lakes.
