DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS:

On March 30, 2000, the Cypress Creek Development of Regional Impact (DRI) Application for Development Approval (ADA) was submitted to the Florida Department of Community Affairs, Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council, and Pasco County. Approval is being sought for 624,000 square feet of office space, 656,000 square feet of retail space, 740 residential units, and 393 hotel rooms. The project is proposed to be developed in one phase and completed by the Year 2006.

Pursuant to Subsection 380.06(11)(d), the local government agency shall set a public hearing to consider the development application. The Growth Management Department staff is requesting a continuance of the public hearing from January 23, 2002, at 9:30 a.m., in Dade City, to February 19, 2002, at 9:30 a.m., in Dade City. A continuance is necessary to allow sufficient time for the staff and applicant to resolve issues related to DRI/ADA.

ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS:

  1. Continue the public hearing from January 23, 2002, at 9:30 a.m., in Dade City, to February 19, 2002, at 9:30 a.m., in Dade City.

  2. Decline to hear the matter.

  3. Direct staff as to other action desired by the Board.

RECOMMENDATION AND FUNDING:

The Growth Management Department staff recommends that the Board approve Alternative No. 1 above, thus continuing the public hearing to February 19, 2002, at 9:30 a.m., in Dade City.
