GENERAL MEDIA CALLS
A Pasco County Public Safety Communications Supervisor can answer basic media questions regarding fires, law enforcement action, weather damage and emergency calls. Supervisors can give the type of call, the time the call was received and the address of the call. Depending on call activity, Communications may refer you to the appropriate Public Information Officers (PIO). Pasco Sheriff’s Office media calls for child abuse, homicides, vice/narcotics and warrants being served need to be directed to the Sheriff’s PIO.
The Pasco County Public Safety Communications Center is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling 727.847.8102. There may be a delay during breaking news as the call taker’s top priority is to handle 911 calls. During these high-volume call times please reach out to the on-call PIOs.
You may email the on-call Pasco County Government PIO or contact them by phone at 727.514.8513. The on-call PIO is available to assist the media after hours, and can help coordinate information from various Pasco County Departments. The following guide can help media expedite a request for information both during normal business hours and after hours.

All traffic accidents in Pasco County are investigated by the Florida Highway Patrol. Their Public Affairs Officer can be reached at 813.215.1867.
FIRE RESCUE PIO:
A Pasco County Public Safety Communications Supervisor can answer basic questions regarding fires and emergency calls such as the type of call, the time the call was received, and the address of the call. The Pasco County Public Safety Communications Center is available 24-hours a day by calling 727.847.8102 and can provide an address and basic description of a call for Pasco Fire Rescue. There may be a delay during breaking news as the call operator’s top priority is to handle 911 calls. During these times please reach out to the on-call Pasco County Fire Rescue PIO.
If additional information is needed about Pasco County Fire Rescue, media staff should call the Pasco County Fire Rescue Administrative Office, which is open Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and can be reached by calling 813.929.2750.

Pasco County Fire Rescue is generally the first responder for sink holes/depressions/sub-surface anomalies. In many cases, depressions on private property that do not have a public safety or Pasco County Utilities impact are the responsibility of the property owner and/or their insurance carrier. Reach out to Pasco County Public Safety Communications for the address of the depression by calling 727.847.8102. If additional information is needed contact the Fire Rescue PIO’s. In some cases Emergency Management may handle calls dealing with public safety. In those instances you will be directed to an Emergency Management first responder.
