Dumpster Regulations

Dumpsters are permitted on A-R, A-R1, AR-5MH, E-R, ER-2, A-C, and AC-1 zoning districts where parcels consist of more than one acre or which the Property Appraiser has qualified as a bona fide agricultural land. Properties in A-R and A-C greater than five acres are exempt from these regulations.

Dumpsters may be permitted in all other residentially zoned districts, on a temporary basis of 30 calendar days two times in a calendar year, as long as they do not obstruct vehicular or pedestrian traffic.

For more information see Land Development Code 530.19 (PDF).

Dumpster enclosures approved on commercial site plans also require a building permit (PDF) thru Central Permitting.
